As with our sister establishment, the Charles Bathurst Inn in neighbouring Arkengarthdale, the Punch Bowl Inn has gained a reputation for providing food of the utmost quality, our menu is available to view here.
Our commitment to using only the best local and seasonal produce means our lamb and beef are sourced from local farmers, our game comes from the surrounding moors and fresh fish is delivered from Hartlepool six days a week. The choice of dishes created by our team of experienced chefs changes regularly according to availability, but regular favourites include;
- Field Mushroom stuffed with Blue swaledale cheese
- Braised beef casserole and herb dumplings
- Guinea fowl supreme
- dauphinoise potato and wild mushroom sauce
- Orange and Grapefruit Pannacotta.
The inn’s contemporary yet traditional style carries through into the restaurant, with an open fire and a unique wooden bar, designed and crafted exclusively for us by Robert ‘The Mouseman’ Thompson of Kilburn. Our Lunch and Beyond Menu is served daily from 12pm till 2.30pm. It contains extracts from the mirror as well as sharing plates, lighter items and a selection of freshly prepared pannini’s served with mixed salad & potato wedges. Dinner – served Monday -Friday from 6pm till 9pm Saturday 5pm till 9pm and Sunday 5pm till 8pm– Our evening mirror menu offers a variety of seasonal & local produce – for a sample menu please click here. Sunday Lunch – served from 12pm till 2.30pm Traditional Sunday carvery is available on every Sunday of the month using fresh local meat from Cogden Hall Farm and Hammond’s of Bainbridge – main course £9.95 with a choice of starters and desserts available.

Steak Nights – The first and third Tuesday of every month we offer a ‘Home Grown Cogden Hall’ Rump Steak with a choice of garnish for £11.95.
